Compounding Calculator

See how reinvesting gains compounds a balance over time. Useful for understanding the math of growth — not a promise of returns.

Illustrative compounding math only. Consistent, fixed per-period returns are not realistic or guaranteed in real markets — real results vary and include losing periods.

Understand the math, not a forecast

Compounding applies each period's gain on top of the previous balance: final = start × (1 + rate)^periods. Small, steady percentages add up dramatically over many periods — which is why the calculator can show eye-popping numbers.

In reality, no one earns a fixed positive return every period. Markets have losing streaks, drawdowns, and variance. Treat this purely as an educational illustration of the formula, not as something to expect.
